Abstract

The process of socio-spatial fragmentation marks urbanization and contemporary cities, delimiting new borders, new contents of socio-spatial differentiation and new forms of exacerbated territoriality. Contributing to this structure is the deepening of socio-spatial inequalities, source of urban experiences and daily spatial practices tending towards exclusive territorialities. The analytical approach adopted in this project is the analysis of the center and urban centrality, aiming to apprehend the passage from the center-peripheral socio-spatial logic to the fragmentary logic. The study area will be the center of the city of Albacete, seeking a comparative perspective with the reality studied in the regular master's research, that is, the city of Presidente Prudente. (AU)
