Abstract

The Young Researcher project "The teaching of the Christian faith in the Iberian Peninsula" has as one of its fronts the study of language amendment in Iberian society at the end of the Middle Ages. As the beginning of this objective, the present Scientific Initiation project will analyze lessons about a specific language sin, or prevarication. More precisely, with emphasis on the Summa de confession called Defecerunt, by Fr. Antonino (1389-1459) and in the Ordenanzas a los abogados y procuradores, enacted on February 14, 1495, this research will question to what extent the criticism of the lawyers' performance in the lawsuits helped to combat the sin of prevarication.
