Facial metrics through stereophotogrammetry of graduate students aged between 20 and 30 years

Abstract

Facial evaluation, using 3D image acquisition technology by stereophotogrammetry, has been used in dentistry to perform more accurate and efficient analyses. The present work aimed to evaluate the facial proportions of graduate students aged between 20 to 30 years using this non-invasive technology. Evaluate the face of individuals of both sexes and obtain average facial proportions, to develop comparison parameters that will be used in future research and continuing a Brazilian database that has already started with previous studies and different ages. The analysis will be performed using the Vectra H1 portable stereophotogrammetry camera system and the VAM elaboration software (Canfield Scientific, Inc) in 60 patients divided into two groups: G1 - 30 female; G2 - 30 male patients. All individuals must present stable occlusion and not submit to face fillers (botox, hyaluronic acid) or plastic surgery. Morphometric points, linear measurements, and facial angles will be analyzed. The numerical values obtained will be submitted to statistical tests if there is normality, Student's t-test, and if there is no data normality, Mann-Whitney, with a significance level of 5%. The present work has innovative characteristics in the health area, and with this, it will be able to establish relevant facial parameters for digital dentistry.
