Abstract

Large-scale food production has always been a challenge for producers and, recently, to obtain good results and meet world demand, it is necessary to improve production techniques and strategies. However, some products can lead to the development of diseases in humans, in addition to contaminating soils and rivers, thus contributing to the reduction of animal and plant species. Therefore, it is of fundamental importance to analyze these compounds so that there is control, before the situation becomes drastic. For the identification and quantification of these products in the water, the 3,4-dichloroaniline metabolite that composes the herbicide diuron was chosen, with the objective of evaluating its residues and verifying whether the river waters are in healthy conditions. For this, materials based on molecularly imprinted polymers, or MIPs (Molecularly Imprinted Polymers), will be developed, which will be immobilized on magnetic nanoparticles. MIPs, also called biomimetic polymers, have a molecular impression, which by affinity interact with the analyte of interest, for which it was synthesized. Finally, its efficiency and selectivity will be analyzed by chromatographic (HPLC-UV) and electrochemical methods for later application in analysis of environmental samples.
