Abstract

In Fitopathology, one of the biggest challenges lives on improving the phenotyping techniques to become more effective and reproducible, besides fewer invasives or non-destructive. Thus, the high throughput techniques that use optical sensors figure as an important alternative. This paper aims to investigate the possible association of the spectral phenome to the response of sensible and resistant genotypes of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) to root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita), because this illness causes damage to crops and, for that, is economically relevant to Brazil. Thus, by the use of previously developed techniques of M. incognita's inoculation in our laboratory, it aims to obtain leaf phenotypic data by using a hyperspectral camera. Finally, by using multivariate statistic techniques, it's waiting to develop an efficient and non-invasive phenotyping method for plants affected by this condition.
