Effect of partial replacement of Flint ground corn and soybean meal by de-oiled corn ethanol co-product on productive parameters of cows in the middle third of lactation

Abstract

A study will be conducted with the objective of comparing the productive performance of Holstein cows in the middle third of lactation, kept confined in a free-stall system, submitted to two experimental treatments: T1 - Control (fine ground corn + soybean meal) and T2 - DDGS (ground corn + soybean meal + 17% DDGS), both diets with a 60:40 roughage:concentrate ratio. In order to evaluate the following variables: milk production, solids content and production, milk fatty acid profile, feed efficiency, variation in body condition and energy partition of the cows, distributed in an experimental arrangement in randomized blocks. Data will be analyzed by PROC MIXED of SAS 9.4, respecting all assumptions of analysis of variance. Significance will be declared at P d 0.05 and trend at P d 0.10.
