Abstract

The present work will analyze the precision and safety of four motors with locators used in Endodontics (VDW Gold, IRoot Pro, E-Connect S and TriAuto ZX with experimental reciprocant movement). For the accuracy analysis, human lower incisors will be placed in an alginate model and the Glide Path with instrument X1 15/.04 in reciprocating motion, monitored with the ligament built-in, programmed in the Auto Stop function. The distance from the file towards the apex will be analyzed by means of Computed Microtomography To analyze the safety of the engines, the cyclic and torsional fatigue tests will be performed. For the cyclic fatigue test, with the motors in the reciprocating function, as the same angulation value, speed and similar instruments and will be timed the time from sent to the fracture. For torsional stress, prototyped lower incisors will be prepared with the motors at the same angle and speed. After instrumentation, new and used instruments will be submitted to the torsional test, using Universal machine, following the ISO 3630-1 standard (1992). The maximum torque and angular deflection will be measured. Data from all analyses will be compared statistically.
