Abstract

Endodontic filling cements based on calcium silicate are currently proposed for endodontic treatment, which are commercially available in ready-to-use or powder/liquid formulas. Ready-to-use cements depend on ambient humidity to initiate the pressure reaction, while for powder/liquid cements, water is present in the formulation itself. Under clinical conditions, these materials must present bioactivity, volumetric stability and low solubility. The objective of the project will be to evaluate the volumetric change in computerized microtomography of endodontic sealers, in relation to the response when perfected in connective and bone tissues of rats for 30 days with the materials (n = 8), with 64 animals in total. Eight experimental groups will be divided according to the filling endodontic materials: BioRoot RCS (Septodont, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France), MTApex (Ultradent, South Jordan, USA), Bio-C Sealer (Angelus, Londrina, Brazil) , Bio-C Sealer Ion+ (Angelus, Londrina, Brazil), EndoSequence BC Sealer (Brasseler, Savannah, USA), NeoSEALER Flo (Avalon Biomed Inc., Bradenton, USA), AH Plus Bioceramic (Dentsply, Konstanz, Germany) and AH Plus Jet (Dentsply, Konstanz, Germany). The volumetric change analysis will be performed by calculating the total volume in mm3 of the reconstructed three-dimensional images, considering the volumetric change between the initial and final volume. The results will be statistically evaluated by the ANOVA method and interpreted processors for the conclusion of this study, with a significance level of 5%.
