Abstract

This Scientific Initiation research proposal is linked to the Thematic Project "Mathematics in teacher training and teaching: processes and dynamics of production of professional knowledge, 1890-1990", coordinated by Prof. doctor Wagner Rodrigues Valente (Process 2017/15751-2). The research intends to contribute with elements considered important for the professional knowledge of teachers, based on the analysis of a proposal from the 1990s, known as National Curriculum Parameters - PCN. The study's guiding question is: How do specialists, in their opinions, evaluate the use of the calculator, considering new knowledge that the teacher who teaches mathematics should mobilize? Experts' opinions on the preliminary version of the PCN, documents contained in the APMAM - Personal Archive Maria Amábile Mansutti, are used as research sources. As theoretical-methodological tools, contributions from Cultural History and Social History of Education are mobilized.
