Abstract

Calcium silicate-based repair endodontic cements are currently proposed for endodontic treatment, which are commercially available in ready-to-use or powder/liquid formulas. Ready-to-use cements depend on ambient humidity to initiate the setting reaction, while in powder/liquid cements, water is present in the formulation itself. Under clinical conditions, these materials must present bioactivity, volumetric stability, and low solubility. The project's objective will be to evaluate the volumetric change in computerized microtomography of these endodontic sealers, in relation to the response when implanted in rats' connective and bone tissues for 30 days with the materials (n = 8), with 64 animals in total. Eight experimental groups will be divided according to the repairing endodontic materials: Biodentine (Septodont, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France), MTA Flow Repair (Ultradent, South Jordan, USA), NeoMTA 2 (Avalon Biomed Inc., Bradenton, Florida, USA), ProRoot MTA (Dentsply, Konstanz, Germany), MTA HP (Angelus, Londrina, Brazil), Bio-C Repair (Angelus, Londrina, Brazil), EndoSequence BC RRM Putty (Brasseler, Savannah, USA) and NeoPUTTY (Avalon Biomed Inc., Bradenton, Florida, USA). The volumetric change analysis will be performed by calculating the total volume in mm3 of the reconstructed three-dimensional images, considering the volumetric change between the initial and final volume. The results will be statistically evaluated by the ANOVA method and subsequent interpretations for the conclusion of this study, with a significance level of 5%.
