Abstract

The research project asks about the meanings of the appearance of the table device in audio/visual creations, elaborated between the 1970 sand 1990s, in Brazil and in the United States. Works in which the device appears central created by artists such as Anna Bella Geiger, Anna Maria Maiolino, Carrie Mae Weems and Louise Bourgeois will be analyzed. I propose the elaboration of a history of the imaginaries of tables based on their uses in artistic works. To this end, a cartographic work will be carriedout, inspired by the writings of Didi-Hubermanand Aby Warburg. The investigation intends to deepen the debates involving the production of imaginaries and spaces, considering the critical potential provided by the intersection between the territory of the arts and architecture/design. In this sense, paths that consider thes patializations - psychic, urban, geographic, imagery, among others - produced, tensioned, und one and remade by artistic creations will be privileged. From a theoretical-methodological perspective, feminist studies will contribute to the construction of the analyzes, through which the table is problematized as an object that allows thinking critically about creative work, highlighting, in this direction, the analyzes of Sara Ahamed on objects, guidelines and notions of others and Barbara Smith dealing with tables and base operations for creation.
