Abstract During this research period, our intention is to conduct a detailed investigation of what is known as "Heidegger's Philosophy of Art" in his essay The Origin of the Work of Art, particularly with regard to his criticisms of Aesthetics as the modern interpretation of art. Heidegger's works during the 1930s were particularly focused on investigating Modernity as a crucial moment in the history of Being, and the mentioned criticisms played an important role in this attempt. We also intend to give this important subject the proper attention it deserves by offering a systematic effort around Heidegger's manuscripts and notes, which will provide us with a broader perspective on Heidegger's own conception of art and artwork, always followed by commentaries and analysis of Aesthetics. By gaining access to further documentation around the philosopher and their interpreters, we will seek to understand more precisely what Heidegger refers to as the "Überwindung der Aesthetik" in The Origin of the Work of Art and what it means when it comes to provide a philosophical perspective about the artwork, if it is possible to claim a heideggerian aesthetic or philosophy of art. This investigation will not only serve as an interpretative study of the aforementioned essay and the old Pöggeler-Herrmann quarrel, but also as part of the broader commentaries made by Heidegger on art, which are still secondary in Brazil's studies of Heidegger's philosophy compared to the studies on Being and Time, for example. | |
