Abstract

This is a request for an IC scholarship for a previously selected candidate. The infectious disease model is using the human pathogenic fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis to evaluate viable fungi, isolate lung leukocytes and characterize them, prepare slides for histology and examine them, make fungal cultures and learn cytometry. With the development of this project, the student will have an overview of the main techniques we use here in the laboratory. The role of IL-27 and IL-35 in the development of paracoccidioidomycosis will be evaluated.
