Abstract

The transformations triggered by the digitalization of societies have been materialized in the form of a reconfiguration of production chains, consumption, distribution and management, especially in the area of information organization and information business. As a result of these changes, many sectors, including journalism, have tried to keep up with the new production pacts, which have been rearranged in increasingly shorter spaces of time and at even higher intensities, making it difficult for them to adapt to new realities and perpetuating what has come to be called the journalism crisis. With the launch of Artificial Intelligence tools to the public, notably ChatGPT at the end of 2022, for example, new paradigms are being raised about their impacts and potential, which are still uncertain, for journalism businesses. Given this scenario, this research seeks to identify studies that have demonstrated journalistic business models in artificial intelligence (AI). Using the Scoping Review method, this work will seek to produce a literature review on the subject of journalism and business models in Artificial Intelligence, and inventory authors and cases of AI development projects for journalism. The new productive demands of communication, including those represented by the field of AI, will require newsrooms to understand the urgency of the issue, which calls for the contribution of good practices carried out in other territories around the world, and which can better prepare Brazilian journalism for current and future challenges.
