Abstract

High temperatures and drought represent a significant global challenge, complicating agricultural production and directly impacting seed production and quality. The effects of high temperatures and drought during seed production and germination need further exploration. Seed production is closely tied to the use of high-quality seeds, influenced by genetic, physical, physiological, and sanitary attributes. Physiological attributes receive considerable attention from researchers due to their relation to seed germination and vigor. However, other attributes may also correlate with physiological aspects. Therefore, the objective of this research will be to investigate the phenotypic, physiological, biochemical, and genetic changes that occur during seed production of a model species under high temperatures and drought. Upon completion of this research, it is anticipated that molecular pathways and potential genetic markers associated with seed vigor will be elucidated.
