Abstract

This project aims to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) prototype with Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5. An environmental monitoring system will be developed to support aquaculture production units, utilizing low-cost limnological and meteorological sensors capable of transmitting data via the Internet of Things (IoT) using the ESP32 microcontroller. The MVP will perform real-time measurements every ten minutes, monitoring air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, precipitation, water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), and water conductivity (TDS). The data obtained will be compared with those generated by professional sensors and probes to validate the system's accuracy. For validation, statistical indices such as Mean Bias Error (MBE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and t-test will be applied. This approach will allow for testing of the equipment and sensors, validating components in a relevant environment that approximates operational conditions in commercial aquaculture production systems. The developed product can be further refined and disseminated within the scientific community through technology transfer to society and companies in the sector, seeking low-cost, user-friendly solutions for aquaculture enterprises.
