Abstract The present project, prepared for the Research Internship Abroad, is part of the research entitled "How Were the Stories of Wars Narrated? Practices and Possible Writings in Brazilian Military Narratives Between the Late 19th and Mid-20th Century," which examines various historical writings on the Paraguayan War, the War of Canudos, and the First World War as its central problem and is currently in progress. During the first three semesters of research development, the need to broaden the dialogue on theoretical issues outlined in the original project became evident. Thus, this internship project aims to advance discussions on the present time as a problem for historical writing, memory, and the political uses of the past in collaboration with the Research Group on Uses of the Past, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Sérgio Campos Matos at the History Center of the University of Lisbon. | |
