Abstract

This qualitative-exploratory research aims to analyze how the intersections of race, gender, and class are understood in the health-illness process of Black women within the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS) in the city of Assis. To achieve this, after a bibliographic review on the topic, the narratives of interviewed health professionals will be mapped, investigating how the health-illness process and health care for Black women are manifested, taking into account the intersections of race, class, and gender. Additionally, it seeks to identify the understanding of the importance of intersectional care for Black women, highlighting possible presences or absences of manicoloniality in health discourses and practices, and discussing the psychosocial effects of racism on the health of Black women. With this project, we hope to carry out a deeper analysis of intersectionality as a tool for care, as opposed to the effects of manicoloniality and the racialization device in Health Care.
