Abstract

Staffing of Nursing Professionals is a crucial managerial tool for the training of nursing students. This content contributes significantly so that the nurse, in their professional practice, can offer quality care in health services and overcome daily challenges in managing care, such as those related to the scarcity and maldistribution of professionals. Thus, the present study aims to: analyze and understand the teaching-learning strategies in the teaching of the content of Nursing Staff Sizing, as well as the factors that contribute positively and negatively to this process, from the perspective of teachers of seven undergraduate and graduate nursing courses in public higher education institutions in the State of São Paulo. For this purpose, the study will use a qualitative approach, employing the Critical Incident Technique (CIT) to collect data and guided by a semi-structured interview script. Data analysis will be performed through content analysis, as proposed by Bardin's reference (2011). This study aims to contribute to the improvement of the teaching of care management, especially regarding Nursing Staff Sizing, which is fundamental for the organization and qualification of health services. The research will provide a deeper understanding of the teaching-learning strategies that best equip future nurses to use this content effectively. In addition, by identifying the factors that facilitate or hinder the teaching of staffing, the study will provide evidence for the improvement of pedagogical practices and improvements in the training of nurses in relation to care management.
