Abstract

Introduction: Since comorbidities can change the health status and performance of cancer patients and interfere with the treatment itself, there is a need to know the comorbidities of these individuals. To this end, the Self-admitted comorbidity question (SCQ) was developed for clinical research and health services, allowing the severity of each comorbidity and its impact on the health of cancer patients to be observed. Objective: To carry out the translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the SCQ into Brazilian Portuguese, validate and analyze the psychometric measures of the questionnaire in cancer patients. Methods: The study will be divided into two phases: Firstly, the SCQ will be translated and adapted into Brazilian Portuguese, following the recommendations of COSMIN and the ISPOR Task Force for Translation and Cultural Adaptation of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures. Next, analysis of the measurement properties of the SCQ will be done by recruiting patients with primary cancer. To this end, analyzes of the tool's reliability, responsiveness and validity will be carried out. Four applications were carried out at different times. In addition to applying the questionnaire, functional capacity will be assessed with the 1-Minute Sitting and Standing Test (TSL1), quality of life with the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Core Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-30), symptoms Edmonton Symptom Assessment Scale (ESAS-Br) and body composition (bioelectrical impedance). These evaluations will be used to validate the tool. Statistical analysis: For continuous variables, they will be described as mean and standard deviation or median interquartile range, depending on the distribution of the data. For reliability analysis, the interclass brightness coefficient (ICC) and 95% confidence interval (CI) will be used. Inter-rater consistency will be used using the Croabach coefficient while intra-rater consistency will be analyzed using the Standard Error of Measurement (SEM).
