Abstract

The overall objective of this internship abroad, which will be conducted in collaboration with the Complutense University of Madrid, is to understand how LGBTI+ individuals in the Spanish capital, Madrid, evaluate their experiences of inclusion and permanence in the labor market as a result of public policies based on affirmative action. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews with beneficiaries of these policies. The methodology includes the Snowball technique for participant recruitment and the Analysis of Discursive Practices of their information to understand the production of meanings attributed to their work experiences. The information collected will subsequently be compared with that obtained in Brazil, in order to address the objectives of the postdoctoral research being carried out in the Brazilian context, where a few initiatives for LGBTI+ inclusion in the workplace can be identified, both at the municipal level and, more recently, at the national level, although the latter is still in the pilot phase. I start from a prior understanding that experiences of LGBTI+ inclusion in the world of work, made possible by public policies, are evaluated by their beneficiaries more positively than those made by the private sector, which would demonstrate the relevance and need for greater attention and promotion of LGBTI+ public policies aimed at guaranteeing employment.
