Abstract

This research is part of a collaborative project between Brazilian and Spanish researchers whose purpose is to map the demands and quality of actions and affirmative policies for LGBTI + in the universities of Spain and Brazil. This specific project aims to identify and analyze the impact of policies and affirmative actions of the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" for access and permanence to education and the fight against violence against sexual and gender diversity from the perception of LGBTI + population. In order to know the perception of the actions according to the LGBTI + student population, on the experiences with the implemented policies and actions, will be realized: a) Application of questionnaires (survey on line) with the student population LGBTI +; b) Semi-directed interviews with participants from the selection of questionnaires applied to the LGBTI+ student population. The analysis will be based on the principles of qualitative research and Content Analysis. Thus, we will consider the analysis of the data produced on the universities from the following items: a) consideration or not of the demands of the LGBTI + population; b) articulation with broader policies in society for the LGBTI + population; c) timeliness and scope of the discussions on accessibility and permanence of the LGBTI + population; d) intentionality and fundamental values of actions.
