Abstract

This project investigates the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop digital competencies in science teachers. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to explore the complexity of the topic. The methodology includes a systematic literature review, semi-structured interviews, focus groups, document analysis, and structured questionnaires. Current practices, challenges, and educators' perceptions will be analyzed, along with the effectiveness of continuous training programs. The research will also assess the technological infrastructure needs and the measures for data security and privacy. Expected outcomes include identifying key obstacles and opportunities, developing practical strategies and recommendations, creating AI-based assessment tools, and proposing measures to enhance data security and technological infrastructure in science education. It is anticipated that this research will significantly contribute to educational innovation, providing a more personalized and effective learning environment while promoting continuous teacher training in an increasingly digitalized context.
