Abstract

Good living has been reflected in a way of life that integrates people, living beings, and nature, promoting a harmonious, respectful, and balanced relationship between everyone and the environment and shared space, emphasising the importance of valuing the different perspectives, perceptions, knowledge, and ways of life of traditional Amazonian communities. This study seeks to encompass the historical and personal roots, considering the utopia of good living, through traditional knowledge intrinsically related to biodiversity conservation in the communities of the Jari Valley (AP) and the Guaporé Valley (RO), made up of descendants of quilombolas and extractivists, who have suffered the effects of continuous pressure from irresponsible environmental and economic exploitation activities in these regions. The research aims to understand and analyze the values associated with the concept of good living, identifying strategies that promote the conservation of biodiversity and harmonious coexistence with the environment. The research is qualitative and exploratory, with a literature review on related topics and semi-structured interviews in the communities to broaden the understanding of concepts and approaches to good living and its relationship with the Amazonian environment. Content analysis will be used to interpret the data and classify the elements of meaning attributed to good living, analyzing intrinsic aspects related to the communities' way of life. In this way, the aim is to disseminate the contribution of studies on good living in traditional Amazonian communities, as a lifestyle for the conservation of socio-diversity, expanding knowledge on the subject.
