Abstract

This research aims to investigate the relationship between the implementation of algorithmic initiatives and the editorial logic of two counter-hegemonic and activist native digital news outlets: La Giganta Digital, in Seville, and Maldita.es, in Madrid. To this end, a methodology of in-depth interviews with journalists working in these outlets is developed, with the purpose of identifying and exploring, through a conversational method, the role of innovative intelligent systems in the stages of news production and circulation, as well as understanding how editorial criteria are established in alignment with the intended use of algorithmic tools in the information media under study.
