Abstract

In this study the persistence of host-parasitoid interaction will be analyzed experimentally and theoretically upon two perspectives: non spatial and spatial structured systems. The host populations will be represented by C. megacephala (Diptera: Calliphoridae) and parasitoid populations by Nasonia vitripennis (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae). The inherent factors of metapopulation systems as density-dependent processes - migration rates and carrying capacity - and metapopulation size will be analyzed in terms of persistence of species. The characteristics of parasitoid dispersal and aggregation behavior in response to different host densities among patches are important to the study of population dynamics connected by migration and to the biological control of sinantropic dipterans.
