Abstract

This study assesses the prevalence of the Burnout Syndrome in surgeon-dentists in the public health service in the municipality of Araraquara, SP, Brazil and its association with socio-demographic variables of interest. The sample will comprise surgeon-dentists from the municipal public health service who consent to participate. To characterize the sample socio-demographic information will be raised and to assess the Burnout Syndrome the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) will be used. The questionnaire will be applied by one and properly trained examiner. The Burnout Prevalence will be estimated by point and by a 95% confidence interval. To study the association between the Burnout prevalence and the variables of interest the chi-square test will be carried out. A 5% level of significance will be adopted.
