Abstract

Catalytic processes are part of petrochemical and chemical industries daily life, among others, and have great importance in recent efforts to reduce the impacts of human activities on the environment through minimization of waste and energy consumption. The study of catalysts is rather difficult because, in general, they are quite complex and not homogeneous and requires multidisciplinary approaches.A promising way to understand these systems is the use of model systems. By controlling the substrate and the catalyst particle it is possible to understand the basic mechanisms that lead, since the reagents, until the desired product. We are mounting a structure to generate clusters selected in composition/mass, which is ideal to produce catalysts model. Therefore, the objective of this project is the study of catalytic processes in a controlled environment and using catalysts model.
