Abstract

This project consists on system modeling, development of algorithms and methodologies for the power system analysis and optimization (steady state condition). Special attention will be given to optimization using classical methods such as the Simplex and Dual Simplex methods. The last one is rarely mentioned in power system area, nevertheless it can provide lower computational cost in situations involving few topology modifications, as occurs in transmission system expansion planning algorithms. The Brazilian systems and the IEEE systems will be used for tests and software such as GAMS can be used to check the results. (AU)
