Abstract

In the present proposal, the basic idea is to generate a buried layer of ferromagnetic (Fe, Co & Ni) nanoparticles/clusters in different insulating matrices. After characterizing these nanoparticles properties, the samples will be subjected to annealing or irradiation with swift heavy ions under different conditions in order to systematically modify and tune their microstructural and magnetic properties to study the effect of dipolar interactions on their superparamagnetic properties.
