Abstract

Implants represent an alternative to replace lost teeth, and the patients requirement for immediate rehabilitation has increased. For this, the use of provisory restorations is basic, being that the manufacturers has provided prosthetic components aiming to become this stage more practical and safe. Prefabricated acrylic cylinders were developed in order to made provisional restorations on universal posts. However, the literature does not have information regarding the marginal adaptation and the standardization of the internal space of these prefabricated cylinders. Moreover, the effect of the polymerization of the acrylic resin, used in the confection of provisional restorations, on the adaptation of these prefabricated cylinders is not known. Thus, the objective of this study will be to verify the marginal adaptation and the standardization of the internal dimensions of the prefabricated acrylic cylinders in relation to the universal posts, before and after the confection of provisional restoration using autopolymerizable acrylic resins. Additionally, the provisional restorations will be cemented with two temporary luting agents and the resistance to dislodgment by traction will be analyzed.
