Abstract

This research project aims to prepare a new cubic ordered mesoporous silica, using a new triblock copolymer template, Vorasurf, based on PEO/PBO/PEO, from Dow Chem. Co.. The novelty in this synthesis resides not only on the use of a new polymer, but also on the use of sodium silicate as the silica source. This project has the goal to provide to the student a wide experimental knowledge, that includes sample synthesis, different characterization methods, enphazing the Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS), necessary to determine the structural characteristics of the materials that will beproduced.
