Abstract

This research is on the history of the sensationalism in Brazilian Press, between 1870-1930. The main questions are: the implantation and consolidation of the sensationalism in Brazil, the most significant publications, the influences of the traditional narratives, its dialogue with other forms of sensationalism and its increasing function in the society of masses.We will try to answer: which the main publications, which its intention and what this research can show of this society. In this way, its symbols and tensions that display the unstable order daily, looking for to contribute for the history of the Press in Brazil.
