Abstract

his work is analyzing the issue confluences between educational and urban ideas in the early years of the twentieth century. It addresses the educational proposals of engineers who founded the Brazilian Education Association (ABE) in 1924 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Bibliographical studies were analyzed for Educational Renewal Movement in Brazil, the work of engineers in the First Republic and the urban transformations in Rio de Janeiro city. It has been in the First Republic the city as a reference for the educational project developed by these engineers. The research allows us to understand how the relationship between education were established, political and urban transformations in the context analyzed (AU)
