Abstract

The purpose of this project is to study the human notion in the hollywoodian science fiction cinema. 2001: a space odyssey, directed by Stanley Kubrick, Alien, by Ridley Scott, and their mechanical characters, Hal and Ash, are the center of a analysis that interlace the political and historical context, the academic and scientific debates and the period which Hollywood had gone through. These events are put together to argument how the non-human characters bring to light what is not obvious in human representation and how they dissimulate the contraditions of the human notion (AU)
