Abstract

In order to contribute to the historiographic studies of Psychoanalysis in Brazil, this thesis analyses the psychoanalytic discourse on adolescence and youth behaviour, understanding it as an important way to reveal the relation that Psychoanalysis established with its social context during the period of the civil-military dictatorship Brazilian (1964-1985). Taking psychoanalytical publications as a means of historical investigation, this work provides an overview of Brazilian psychoanalytic production in the studied period, aiming to name the different institutional affiliations, as well as the different groups and generations that disputed the main themes emerging in the psychoanalytic universe from that time. From the analysis of the various narratives present in psychoanalytic production, we have highlighted the main theoretical articulators used to think about adolescence and its manifestations in society, such as delinquency, youth protest and the generational conflict. The political and cultural resistance movements of youth played a central role in society of the time and became a privileged focus of attention of the State, as well as of the psychoanalytic knowledge and practices. We have sought to reflect how Psychoanalysis, when approaching a model of scientific discourse, ended up transforming itself into a discursive apparatus that doubly neutralized subversion, its own and also that of adolescent discourse. Lastly, we have aimed to demonstrate how the traditional analytical training system, using a similar discourse, framed the normal candidate and his future as an analyst, just as it did with the desired normality of young people in society (AU)
