Abstract

This thesis aimed to examine the consequences to the school management of the use of the Integrated Management System (IMS) in the municipal primary school of Alecrim / SP. The SGI is a management technology designed by Pitágoras Foundation which was established in the city through a partnership between this foundation and the municipal government in 2006. This case study aims to investigate the spheres involved in the partnership using semi-structured interviews with school management representatives of the municipal school units and private institution in question. This case study. It was observed that the school leaders have used the techniques of SGI, however, the frequency and the shapes of this uses were different at each school. It is also of singular importance to this work a detailed description of the SGI adopted by Pitágoras Foundation that finds its roots in Total Quality Management, a management model that had its heyday in Brazilian education in the 1990s.
