I have a Ph.D. (2004), a master's degree in psychology - theory and behavior research from the Federal University of Pará (2000), a bachelor's degree in psychology from the Federal University of Pará (1996), and a post-doctoral degree in psychobiology (2009, 2011) from the University of S. Paulo. Actually, I teach Human Biology I, II, and Psychopharmacology as part of the undergraduate Psychology course and The Impact of Drug Abuse in Society as part of the post-graduate Regional Development course at the Franca Municipal University Center, where I am a full professor. Furthermore, from 2005 to 2022, I served as an Accredited Researcher in the Department of Psychology and Education at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of Ribeiro Preto, University of São Paulo. In this role, I mentored post-graduate students in my own laboratory and taught courses in the areas of neurobiology of drug abuse and psychobiology of anxiety disorders. With an emphasis on organ and system physiology, mental health, and behavior, my work has primarily been in the fields of experimental psychology, psychobiology, and neuropsychopharmacology. I carry out studies in the following fields: Basic psychobiological components of drug abuse, including the neurobiology of fear and anxiety, with an emphasis on learning and memory, mood and emotion, drug withdrawal, psychotropic substances, electrophysiology, and pharmacology of the central nervous system. I have been invited to review articles for several prestigious journals, such as PLOS ONE, Amino Acids, Pharmacological Reports, Developmental Psychobiology, Brain Research, European Journal of Pharmacology, European Journal of Neuroscience, International Journal of Psychology, and Neurobiology, among others.
