Birthplace: Brazil

Researcher in Marine Sciences, public communication of science and ocean literacy. I promote transdisciplinary science, which is co-produced between all sectors of society throughout the project. Enthusiast of socially referenced science, and in which the publication of the scientific article is just a stage in the process of doing science, which supports dissemination to other sectors of society. Therefore, I believe that in addition to producing science, we must strengthen the use of science by other sectors of society. This activity has taken place especially in projects aligned with the Ocean Decade and as coordinator of the Maré de Ciência Program at UNIFESP. In my work with UNESCO, I have coordinated the Escola Azul Brazil Program, I act as Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Alliance for Oceanic Culture and I am President of the World Group of Experts in Ocean Literacy. I have extensive experience in international collaboration projects, with scientific publications on biodiversity, climate change and impacts on the coastal zone. I collaborate with the popularization of science through dissemination through the media (TV, radio, newspapers) throughout Brazil. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
