He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Goiás (1994), a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1997) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (2001). In 1999 he participated in the sandwich doctorate program at the University of Alberta-Canada, and in 2008 he served as a visiting professor at the Technical University of Denmark - DTU. He is currently a full professor at the State University of Campinas. He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Electric Energy, energy efficiency, energy management and conservation. Coordinates the Sustainable Campus project and the GGUS - Unicamp Sustainable University Management Group. He received the Zeferino Vaz academic excellence award from UNICAMP in 2012. He received the 2021 Technology Personality Award in the "Sustainable Energy" category from the Union of Engineers in the State of São Paulo - SEESP. He received the Diploma of Socio-Environmental Merit from the Municipality of Campinas in 2023. He is a member of the State Council for Energy Policy, CEPE-SP, together with the Secretariat of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics, SEMIL-SP.
