André Luis Leite de Figueirêdo Sales

I belong to a community of researchers dedicated to addressing Brazil's social and political challenges through education and knowledge production. Prior to embarking on my academic journey, I served as a community psychologist in underprivileged neighborhoods and acted as a public policy consultant at the municipal, state, and federal levels in Brazil for over five years. Subsequently, I worked as a research consultant for the Rio Grande do Sul College of Psychology for two years. My work in Political Psychology focuses on social movements, radical democracy, and human developmenta critical juncture where theory meets practice and structures intersect with individuals.During my doctoral studies in Psychology at São Paulo State University, funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation, I established collaborative networks in Brazil, the United States, and Canada with renowned academics in the fields of Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science. I am the author of two academic books, one in English and another in Portuguese, numerous scientific articles, and opinion pieces in Brazilian media, as well as a novel based on my first doctoral dissertation.In 2021, I became responsible for the strategic communication of the Sustainable Health Equity Movement (SHEM), where I expanded my international experience by collaborating with UN agencies and connecting with individuals of various nationalities dedicated to the fight for a more just world.Since 2023, I have been an instructor at the Academy of the International Society of Political Psychology, training professors and students in cutting-edge, evidence-based research in the field.
