Full Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo (USP). She holds a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (1986), a Masters degree (1992) and a Ph.D. (1997) in Psychobiology from the Federal University of São Paulo. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Ernest Gallo Clinic and Research Center, University of California, San Francisco (19992001). Head of the Department of Pharmacology at ICB-USP (20212025). President of the International Society of Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (ISBRA) from 2020 to 2022. President of the Latin American Society of Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (LASBRA) from 2008 to 2013. Member of ISBRAs Board of Directors since 2014, servindo nos comitês: Membership, Education, Communication e Executive Committee. Coordinator of the Graduate Program Committee (CCP) of the Department of Pharmacology at ICB-USP (20132017). Her research experience is in the field of neuropsychopharmacology, with a focus on: the effects of ethanol and cocaine during neurodevelopment, the impact of environmental manipulations (enrichment/stress) in animal models of substance use disorders (SUD), and the effects of environmental interventions in individuals with SUD.
