Abstract

This project aims to strengthen scientific collaboration between the University of São Paulo (USP) and the University of Genoa (UniGE) through the development of advanced chemometric strategies combined with vibrational spectroscopy, applied to food quality and safety analysis. Planned activities include four short-term exchange missions involving faculty members and graduate students, technical seminars, and a short course on multivariate calibration. The primary focus will be on predictive modeling of the effects of different food processing technologies on physicochemical properties, digestibility, and cytotoxicity of food matrices. The partnership will integrate experimental data generated in Brazil with analytical tools developed in Italy, fostering scientific advancements, capacity building of highly qualified human resources, and the submission of joint publications and research proposals to international funding programs.
