Abstract

The present project aims to secure resources to support the continuity of the investigations into the physiopathology of the B-1 cells of the mouse. It was demonstrated in our laboratory that B-1 cells proliferate in adherent peritoneal cell cultures of the mouse transforming themselves into mononuclear phagocytes different from macrophages originating from monocytes. Furthermore, that these cells migrate from the peritoneal cavity of the mouse to the non-specific inflammatory focus. The limitations in knowledge about the physiopathology of the B-1 cells and the opportunity of obtaining it from these cells in culture provided the opportunity for the present project which aims to investigate the origin, differentiation and participation of these cells in the inflammation, scarring and rejection of grafts. It further aims to investigate the role of these cells in immunomodulation induced by P. acnes and their lipidic and proteic components. (AU)
