Abstract

Children spend much of their time at school and at that time 45% are involved in activities in which predominates the speech of teachers and colleagues. Accordingly, it is easy to conclude that the light receiving capacity of the message and processing it is essential to aurally school learning. The noise levels in classrooms are generally high and vary according to the school and classroom. The acoustics in the appropriate classrooms and a signal to noise ratio is favorable vital for all students. This way, the audiologist can work with programs of action based on assessment tools that indicate the environmental adaptations and guidelines necessary for the teacher since the auxiliary communication devices such as FM, part of the Assistive Technology that the teacher should have access to your student has access to information. The literature describes improvements in academic performance, speech recognition, learning and self-esteem increased as benefits of using FM equipment in sound field for children with normal hearing. Teachers show benefits including reducing stress and fatigue and greater ease of vocal teaching. To school, to keep the teacher's vocal health is about maintaining the quality of their teaching and reduce the cost of replacements and treatments. (AU)
