Contributions of a researcher belonging to Canadian Access Program to the process of transition of Brazilian undergraduate students from vernacular to academic literate practices

Abstract

I - First Week: 1. 29/11/11: Review technology requirements for the summer global classroom Project; 2. 29-30/11/11: Review use of technology in teaching and learning meant to increase international linkages for students. 3. 29/11/1: Analyze comparative data re student progress. 4. 30/11 - 02/12 - Connection via SKYPE between the Research Group of the "University of Manitoba" and the Research Group LEETRA/UFSCar. Second Week: 1. 05/12/11: Develop linkages with Brazilian Indigenous learners and share policies and practices for students retention and success.2. 06/12 - 08/12/11: Mini-course: Share opportunities and barriers for Aboriginal learners to access and integrate technology within their learning environment. Deliver workshops for students/faculty on the integration of technology and the development of blended learning within HE. 3. 08/12/11: Lecture "Sharing Web 2.0 technologies and open source software and resources". 4. 09/12/11: Meeting with the Research Group LEETRA.
