Abstract

We propose an exchange of researchers from the nuclear physics groups at the Radioactive lon Beams in Brazil (RIBRAS) laboratory of the University of Sao Paulo, and at the School of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Edinburgh. There exists a large overlap in the research interests of both groups in the field of experimental nuclear physics and astrophysics of unstable isotopes. Both groups would benefit from the exchange of their technical resources and expertise in the area of experimental nuclear physics with low energy ion beams. The exchange of researchers within this program will be used to identify specific topics that can develop into areas of joint research, and to take the first steps into forming a collaboration based around a joint experimental program at RIBRAS, São Paulo.
