Abstract
In the last two decades Neutrino Physics had a extraordinary growth. The experimental discovery of the neutrino oscillations with the determination of the mixing angles and the mass differences, the long awaited solution for the old anomalies of solar and atmospheric neutrinos and the central role that neutrinos have in the cosmological evolution of the Universe are examples that foster the interest of international community of Particle Physics in the topic of Neutrino Physics. However there are still some open questions in neutrino physics such as the hierarchy of neutrino masses, the nature of neutrino, Dirac or Majorana, and the big question for the next decade, if there is CP violation in the neutrino sector. We are planning to investigate the underlying physics and pave the way for better design, performance and interpretation of the next generation of long-baseline experiments and the next generation of reactor neutrino experiments. This Thematic Project has the goal to work in Neutrino Physics. In neutrino phenomenology, we are interested in (1) Phenomenology of neutrino masses and mixing angles and extensions to other mechanism, (2) study of flavor models and their consequences for neutrino physics (3) neutrinos as astroparticles and (4) neutrino cosmology. Exploring the neutrino phenomenology is not crucial only for high energy physics community, but also for general public and especially is essential to create motivation for young generation to pursue higher education in science which can greatly impact the future of science in Brazil. Therefore we proposed in the Thematic Project an ambitious program of Science popularization. (AU)
