Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) determine the prevalence and incidence of back pain, characterizing his pattern of occurrence frequency, intensity, duration, location and severity-in young adolescents, and the change in these responses in six and twelve months; 2) analyze the association between behavior of back pain and demographics, anthropometric variables, sedentary activities (time on TV, on the computer, tablet and cell phone), related to lifestyle (smoking, and level of physical activity), morbidity, level of information on ergonomic factors, psychosocial factors and the flexibility, and the change in these responses in six and twelve months. Will be conducted an observational study, longitudinal, prospective and analytical with 2.185 high school students from public schools in the city of Bauru/SP, which will be evaluated at three moments (initial, after six months and 12 months). The sample size calculation took into account a plan with sampling of conglomerates in two stages, where the Primary Sampling Units - UPA - are the schools and Secondary sampling units - USA - are the rooms relating to three years of high school selected schools. For the collection of data will be used the following instruments: 1. Characterization of the participants (demographic, socio-economic aspects, level of information on ergonomic factors, sedentary activities-time on TV, on the computer, tablet and mobile phone-, psychosocial, lifestyle factors and morbidity); 2. Strengths and Difficulties Questionnarie; 3. Questionnaire of Baecke; 4. Nordic questionnaire for the analysis of muscoloskeletal symptoms. After the interview will be held the measurement of anthropometrical variables and flexibility. Use descriptive analyses and bivariate and multivariate logistic regression. All tests will be considered the significance level of 5%. (AU)
