Abstract

Gender violence is a social phenomenon, complex and historically constructed, responsible for causing psychological, physical and social damages to the quality of life of those who experience it. It requires of the professionals that act in the services of attendance the women in situation of violence a generalized knowledge. It is necessary to use innovative technologies, tools and educational strategies that stimulate the understanding of gender violence. In this perspective, the boardgame Violets shows itself as an educational technology that allows the players an approximation with this theme. The objective of this research is to understand the potentialities and limits of the Violet game for manage with gender violence. This is an exploratory and descriptive study, with a qualitative approach. The approach and understanding of the research object will be carried out from the analytical categories of gender, gender violence and critical-emancipatory education. The research will have as research scenario the units in operation of the House of Brazilian Women, located in Brasília, Campo Grande and Curitiba. The research participants will be the professionals of these institutions, responsible or involved in the care of women in situations of violence. The data will be collected from a Critical-emancipatory Workshop and analyzed according to Bardin's proposal for the emergence of empirical categories, with the support of WebQDA Software. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the School of Nursing of the University of São Paulo. This study intends to understand the potential of the game Violets in the expansion of critical awareness of professionals to address gender violence. (AU)
